DWI
Texas state law says that anyone can be arrested for driving while influenced (DWI) and driving under the influence (DUI) if their BAC is at or above .08. This offense has serious, lasting repercussions. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, a first DWI offense is punishable by:
- A fine of up to $2,000
- Anywhere from 3 to 180 days in jail
- The loss of your license for up to one year
- An annual fee of $1,000 or $2,000 for three years to retain your license
Subsequent offenses have even harsher punishments, as does being charged with a DWI with a child passenger. While it may not be possible to have charges dismissed, the Gonzalez Center for Justice frequently works with clients to have DWI penalties reduced.
Drug Crimes
Possession of marijuana and other drug crimes carry stiff penalties under Texas law. Drug crimes can be classified as felonies or misdemeanors depending on the type and amount of drugs involved. You can be sent to jail even if this is your first offense. Our lawyers work with clients charged of:

Juvenile cases
While everyone makes mistakes, it is very important for minors charged with a crime to understand that their actions do not necessarily shape the rest of their lives. Attorney Ralph Gonzalez is strict when he represents minors in court because, if uncorrected, bad decisions now may lead to bleak outcomes. We believe everyone deserves the opportunities of a bright future and the chance to make the right choices. We work hard to ensure juveniles are not unfairly punished for their actions, but still comprehend the severity of what charges mean.
