Divorce
Divorce is a large part of the association's family law practice. We have a thorough understanding of Texas divorce law and extensive experience helping clients transition from one phase of their life to the next. We work with clients filing for contested or uncontested divorces on grounds of:

Every attorney at the Gonzalez Center for Justice is a certified mediator. We have the knowledge and patience necessary to help clients through mediation or arbitration in divorce proceedings. We approach every divorce with an open mind to try to reach agreeable terms and encourage open, friendly dialogue. But, we do not hesitate to aggressively protect your interests should your spouse or their attorney try to force you into an unfair agreement.
We help clients through the process of dividing property and determining which parent will have primary physical custody of your child. If requested, we also help clients with post-divorce restoration or name changes.
Child support and modification
The Gonzalez Center for Justice works with clients when the non-custodial parent refuses to pay child support or pays consistently late. As Texas law obligates non-custodial parents to pay child support on a monthly basis, we determine the proper course of action for seeking past due support. We work directly with you to ensure your child’s quality of life does not suffer as a result of your divorce.
We also provide assistance to clients who wish to modify their child support payments because of new financial developments. We walk you through the process of modifying a child support order with the Texas attorney general’s office.
